Why Everything Feels So Overwhelming Right Now?? (Especially in Perimenopause)

🌸“Nothing Changed… So Why Does This Feel So Hard?”

Have you ever had a moment where you stop and think:
👉 Why does everything feel like so much right now?
Your schedule hasn’t drastically changed.
Your responsibilities are pretty much the same.
And yet…
• your patience feels shorter
• your tolerance feels lower
• even simple tasks feel heavier
• your mental load feels… louder
Things you used to handle without a second thought now feel overwhelming.
And that can quickly turn into:
👉 “What is wrong with me?”

🌿 Let’s Clear This Up Right Away

There is nothing wrong with you.
You are not failing.
You are not “losing it.”
You are not suddenly incapable.
👉 Your body is communicating with you

🌸 Why This Happens in Perimenopause

During perimenopause, your hormones are shifting in ways that impact far more than your cycle.
They influence:
• your stress response
• your nervous system
• your mood and emotional regulation
• your sleep
• your overall capacity
As these shifts happen, your body can become:
👉 more sensitive to stress
👉 more easily overwhelmed
👉 less tolerant of constant demands
So even if your life hasn’t changed…
👉 your capacity has

🌿 This Isn’t Failure — It’s Feedback

It’s easy to interpret this as:
“I should be able to handle this.”
“I used to do more than this.”
“Why can’t I keep up?”
But what if this isn’t a sign that you’re falling behind…
👉 What if it’s a sign that something needs to change?
Your body may be telling you:
💛 this pace isn’t sustainable anymore
💛 these expectations are too high
💛 this constant output needs support

🌸 There Are No Prizes for Doing It All

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned:
👉 do more
👉 be more
👉 push through
But here’s the truth:
👉 There are no prizes for doing it all and being it all
And during perimenopause…
Trying to maintain that level of output can actually work against your health.

🌿 An Opportunity to Reevaluate

Instead of seeing this as something going wrong…
What if you saw it as an invitation?
👉 to reassess
👉 to simplify
👉 to focus on what actually matters
This is a chance to ask:
• What is truly important right now?
• What is no longer serving me?
• What actually supports my health and well-being?

🌸 A Different Way Forward

The goal isn’t to push through and “get back” to who you were.
👉 The goal is to support who you are now and your future self
And that may look different.
Softer.
Slower.
More intentional.
And that’s not a step backward…
👉 it’s growth

🌿 Simple Ways to Support Yourself When You Feel Overwhelmed

You don’t need a complete life overhaul.
Start with small, supportive shifts:

💛 Externalize Your Brain

When everything is swirling in your head, it’s exhausting.
Take the pressure off by using tools like:
• lists
• calendars
• reminders
• alarms
👉 You don’t have to hold everything mentally

💛 Practice the Pause

Before reacting, before pushing through…
Pause.
Take a breath.
Give yourself a moment to reset and reasses.
Even 30 seconds can help regulate your nervous system and clear your mind.

💛 Set Boundaries

Not everything needs a “yes.”
Not everything needs your energy.
Protecting your time and energy is not selfish…
👉 it’s supportive

💛 Focus on What You Can Control

When everything feels overwhelming, it helps to zoom in.
Ask:
👉 What is one thing I can do right now?
Not everything.
Just one thing.

💛 Approach This with Curiosity, Not Judgment

Instead of:
❌ “Why can’t I handle this?”
Try:
💛 “What is my body telling me right now?”
Curiosity creates space.
Judgment creates pressure.

🌸 A Gentle Reminder

You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are adjusting.
And that adjustment?
👉 is exactly what your body needs

🌿 As You Move Forward

Let this be your reminder:
💛 You don’t have to do everything
💛 You don’t have to do it perfectly
💛 You just need what works for you right now
Because when you start there…
Things begin to feel lighter.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and ready for a simpler, more supportive approach…
You don’t have to figure this out on your own.

Meet Coach Jaime

Let me introduce myself!
My name is Jaime. I am a Christian wife and mom to 2 humans and 2 furry children. After being a middle school teacher for 17 years, I switched directions to go into the field of health and wellness. I am a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I also have certifications in aromatherapy and menopause coaching. Beyond my passion for health and wellness, you can catch me walking, baking, scrapbooking or sewing.

In the midst of my teaching career, I started to experience a lot of health concerns. My hormones were tanking and I felt terrible. I jumped from doctor to doctor with each one prescribing a new medication that didn't seem to help. I had a full hysterectomy at the age of 39 which threw me into menopause. With little help or guidance from doctors, I started doing my own research which lead to me becoming a health coach. (I guess "rabbit holes" can have benefits!!) I am proud to say that I am stronger and healthier than I have ever been!
My health journey hasn't been easy, but it has been a learning experience that I am grateful for!

I don't want women to have to go through their perimenopause/menopause journey alone and confused, like I did. I don't want women to feel like they have no options. I don't want women to learn the hard way the things that really make a difference for their health. I want women to have the knowledge, support, tools and confidence to take control of their health.

If you are in perimenopause or post menopausal, I want to support, encourage, and empower you during this time. This is not a time for suffering, rather it is a time for powerful change!!
